We are deeply committed to making publishing accessible to everyone, and we believe that every mind brings a unique, vital perspective to literature. Our Swans Cove Media team proudly supports neurodivergent writers and individuals with learning differences, meeting you exactly where you are with tailored guidance and patience.

In fact, two of our talented authors are on the autism spectrum—creatives who once believed writing a book was an impossible goal. By finding the right support system, encouragement, and a shared belief in their voice, they broke through those boundaries to become published authors. If you have a story to tell, no barrier should stand in your way.

The Publishing Process

If your manuscript is accepted and ready to go, you pay one flat fee at the start of the publishing process. From there, the Quill & Compass team will expertly handle every detail, including editing, formatting, cover design, distribution, and comprehensive marketing.

If we love your submission but believe it requires deeper editorial support to reach its full potential, we will let you know. The cost of extensive structural or developmental editing to bring your book up to publication standards is not included in our standard one-time fee.

In these cases, we will recommend a list of our preferred professional editors. If you decide to work with one of them, we will guarantee publication. Please note that Quill & Compass does not profit from the services of our preferred editors. To keep your project moving efficiently, we will even proceed with other parts of the production process while the editorial work is underway. You are always welcome to use any editor of your choosing and re-submit to us, though we cannot guarantee acceptance in advance without our preferred review.

How to Submit

You do not need a literary agent to submit your manuscript to Quill & Compass Publishing, and we do not charge any submission or reading fees.

To submit your work for consideration, please prepare a concise query letter and include the following details:

• Word Count (or note if you are reaching out for the Swans Cove Media program)

• Genre

• Comprehensive Synopsis or Concept Overview

• The First Three Chapters of your manuscript (if available)

• Your Primary Phone Number
